Abstract

The paper examines the arguments presented to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in the case of Luis Eduardo Guachala et al. v. Ecuador within the framework of the amicus curiae submitted by the Boston College Law School International Human Rights Practicum. It highlights how the work of a legal clinic as an amicus curiae can be an exemplary practice that enhances students' experiential learning in strategic litigation while also supporting the Court in its jurisdictional work. Furthermore, the paper examines how this contribution aids in systematizing and reinforcing standards for the protection of human rights, particularly economic, social, and cultural rights (ESCR).
