Abstract
In this chapter, a brief history of the Municipality of Mandaon is presented. The etymology of the name "Mandaon" is first discussed, then the actual discussion of the municipality's history, which is divided into four parts: The Pre-Colonial Setting, the Spanish Colonial Era, the American Colonial Era, and the PostWar and Contemporary Eras.
