Abstract

This chapter of a German Encyclopedia on Artificial Intelligence deals with current questions stemming from the use of AI in various fields of Public International Law. It covers autonomous weapon systems, cross border cyber operations (cyber attacks, intelligence gathering, influence operations) and attribution, autonomous vehicles and the general topic of AI and human rights protection, including migration management. The chapter shows how Public International Law might respond or has already responded to these developments based on soft law, secondary law of international organisations, case law, and treaty law.
