Abstract

The paper is a think piece concerned with improving efficiency of proceedings in labour dispute resolution institutions in South Africa. The paper responds to the identified need for measures that:  (1) address bottlenecks in existing systems; (2) reduce levels of disputes and simplify dispute procedures (including adjudication, reviews, and enforcement);  and (3) promote small and new business sustainability and enable economic growth.
