Abstract

In the world of digitalization the importance of English Language Education has its own pivotal space, compared to other languages in the world. English language is considered as an international language either to get an admission into various universities through international tests or for better communication in enhancing one's career ladder. The learners have a better access to learn English language through the best source called Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) is still being touted one of the best, easiest and interesting option for learning a language, for not less than two decades in India. 'A bold new fascinating world is certainly indicated by CALL, with its own set of conundrums and repercussions (Kern, 2014)'. This paper aims to investigate the effectiveness of CALL in enhancing the speaking skills among language learners, besides providing personalized learning with instructions and feedback to language learners. The usage of technology in CALL mediates in enhancing language learners' oral proficiency and develops and evaluates new CALL tools and materials that could be implemented for improving language learners' speaking skills. The paper aims at assessing the impact of CALL on language learners' speaking skills by focusing, prioritizing and developing the accuracy and fluency, diction, pronunciation, and also one's comprehensive skills so as to investigate the effectiveness of different types of CALL activities and software related to it.
