Abstract

Kundalini awakening has been a famous method of Aagam (Tantra) path in the ancient sadhnas of India. Kundalini refers to the dormant energy sitting in a pool, which is considered to be the basis of all the powers in the body. The aim of all yoga and tantric practices is to awaken this dormant energy, which is situated in the downward direction blocking the path of Brahma. It is painless, chirpy, conscious form and indescribable Maya. In her dormant state, she puts people in bondage and rises in yogis and gives salvation. No mention of Kundalini awakening and piercing of the seven chakras is found in Maharishi Patanjali's Patanjali Yoga, but the mantra of Atharva Veda 'Ashtachakra Navdwara Devanam Puryodhya'' Clear indications of Kundalini awakening are obtained from  Among the various names of Kundalini, Kutilalanggi, Bhujangi, Shakti, Ishwari, Arundhati, Vidyutalata etc. are famous. Due to the dormancy of this power, the soul, while moving in the animal spirit, becomes afflicted by Maya, but when awakened by Ghatastha Yoga. , frees the yogi from all material bondages. The above research paper has been written with special reference to Nath literature. Nath yogis believe that various tantric sects follow the practices of Nath yogis, because the tantric first, while doing external worship, gradually awakens the Kundalini Shakti in the inner spiritual practice, which is the worship of the Avadhoot path. This Avadhoot Marg is the Nath Marg. This is also called the Yoga (Siddha) path.
