Abstract

Students discipled in a worldview that protects life often go on to careers where they continue that calling, serving in public policy places, government positions, think tanks, law firms, educational institutions, medical areas, even missions, and their pro-life views gained and built upon in their education serve them well in those positions because they were discipled in those views in graduate school. Discipleship by their professors and the culture of life they enjoyed during their graduate school tenure stirred in them not only strong pro-life character and convictions, but led them to thrive and make a difference for life in their vocations. This article proffers that discipleship in overall academic culture, in the classroom, and in the character of our students can work to create a culture of life, offering ideas and hope to every university faculty member as key assets in building a culture of life in the academy.
