Abstract
The similarities in Austronesian Puzathaer and Indian Churning of the Milky Sea points to a common source whether in South Asia or Southeast Asia. The paper argues the origin of both tales is in Southeast Asia, particularly Austronesian Southeast Asia. The arguments include linguistic, archaeological, historical, ethnological data and chronological precedence as evidence in favor of an Austronesian origin.
