Abstract

The right to development is a human right, granting individuals self-determination and freedom to pursue social, economic, cultural, and political development. This enables them to enjoy life with liberty and dignity. Human rights are inherent to all, regardless of place of birth, residence, their religion, language, culture or sex. They encompass all civil and political rights, social, economic, and cultural rights. The principle of equality states that all human beings are born free and have equal right to have dignity. Therefore, women, as human beings, also possess the rights inherent to all humans, including the right to development. This paper explores the basis for women’s right to development and advocates for its accessibility.
