This breakout session contribution, held as part of Switzerland's first cross-sectoral event on deforestation-free value chains, explores the implications of the EU Deforestation-Free Products Regulation (EUDR) for commodity-producing countries. The session featured expert insights and stakeholder discussion on opportunities and risks for smallholders and biodiversity, and outlined principles for equitable and effective partnership approaches between producers and buyers. It was facilitated by representatives of the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE), University of Bern.
