Abstract
Digitalisation for sustainability in the hotel sector transcends mere technological adoption; it represents a strategic shift that revolutionises operations, improves guest experiences, and promotes sustainable practices. This paper analyses the significant influence of digitisation on operational efficiency and sustainability in the hotel industry, providing a conceptual framework to explore these relationships. The study employs a systematic literature review to delineate nine critical dimensions through which digitalisation influences sustainable and efficient operations: "Digital Transformation and Innovation," "Customer-Centric Service Delivery," "COVID-19 Responses and Resilience," "Sustainable Practices and Environmental Management," "Franchise Dynamics and Market Resilience," "Data Analytics and Decision Support," "Government Policies and Industrial Collaboration," "Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Business Innovation," and "Social Media Marketing and Digital Engagement." These factors illustrate how digital tools promote sustainable practices, enhance resilience, and facilitate excellence across hotel operations. The review use causal mapping and literature synthesis to create a conceptual framework that elucidates the complex interrelations among these elements. The findings provide essential insights for researchers and policymakers, highlighting how digitalisation acts as a cornerstone for promoting sustainable, resilient, and efficient practices in the changing realm of hotel operations.
