Abstract

This poster presents a study on the length distribution of Perfectly Conserved Sequences (PCS) and their enrichment in small proteins. The researchers analyzed whole-genome alignments of human and mouse genomes and classified PCS as exonic, intronic, or intergenomic. To assess the significance of PCS constraints, three sets of random PCS were created as negative controls. The findings revealed that natural PCS are 11 times more enriched in small proteins compared to random PCS. This research sheds light on the strong constraint on PCS sequences and provides valuable insights into genome evolution and conservation.
