Edge State Robustness in the Ssh Model with Impurities: Topoelectric Circuit Simulations Toward Topological Heterostructures

Abstract
In this work we study the edge state of the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) model with impurities simulated through an equivalent topoelectric circuit. By measuring the impedance of the circuit subjected to a sinusoidal signal probe, we locate the resonant frequency indicating the presence of the edge state. We explore the location of the resonance as a function of the impurity position along a chain of finite length. We also vary the impurity concentration in the chain and explore the behavior of the resonance. Furthermore, we explore the voltage drop at every node of the circuit network as a test for the localization of the edge state. Although it remains robust before the addition of impurities, the location of the impurities sets basis for the construction of heterostructures.
