Sustainable European Mountain Entrepreneurship Through Statistical, Neural Network, And Fractal Analyzes

Abstract

The article examines key aspects of European mountain entrepreneurship, focusing on the economic sectors of Industry (secondary sector) and Services (tertiary sector). The purpose of the analysis is to provide an accurate overview of supporting entrepreneurial sectors in mountain regions, including commerce, the automotive industry, transport, storage, finance, and real estate. These sectors constitute a significant portion of mountain entrepreneurship, accounting for over a third of all mountain-based economic organizations, with the number of enterprises in these sectors steadily increasing. Across EU countries, the entropy level of mountain entrepreneurship in these supporting sectors indicates a need for additional structuring to achieve greater coherence at the community level. Fractal simulations offer imaginative insights into the current organizational state of European mountain entrepreneurship. Additionally, neural network representations, through observed patterns, highlight some weak links within supporting sectors when compared to the entire secondary and tertiary sectors, with stronger connections identified between these two sectors. Based on the findings, the authors propose solutions to enhance interconnectivity among European countries by strengthening specific supporting sectors.
