This research attempts an exploratory inquiry to view, identify, and foresee managerial strategies to face the internationalization process under the forthcoming Summit of the Americas Trade Agreement. Two main diverted roads may be followed to reach Hemispheric market countries. Along the process of internationalization firms may erect trade barriers in the first defensive stage. In the offensive strategy firms run along different paths depending on the amount of value added to internationalizing firms.

A perspective view shows in the second part of the paper, advances in the process of globalization including some trade negotiation scenarios where, talks refer to market access of goods, trade in services and investment, government procurement, rules of origin, and trade practices. Some convergent issues show how Andean Community countries face furthering negotiation talks within the FTAA to favor Andean investors.
