Abstract

This document (of 262 pages) comprises the proceedings of a roundtable on intellectual property rights and competition policy, with a focus on biotechnology, held by the OECD's Competition Committee at the OECD in June 2004.

The roundtable addressed the proper role of competition agencies in the IP-granting process, IP-related conduct that raises competition law enforcement issues, and the interface between IP and competition policy in the context of the biotechnology industry. This document consists of an executive summary and background paper by the Secretariat, together with 14 delegation submissions and a summary of the oral discussion.
