The enterprise applications have more and more importance in the present conditions of globalization and economic competition. Many companies understand the importance of integration to tie together their systems and the systems of their customers, partners and suppliers. Application integration is really a combination of problems: strategic, organizational, technical, business risks, costs, infrastructure, data conversion and standardization etc., which must be combined and addressed. The technologies used in developing the enterprise applications are in a continuous evolution and they tend to permanently diversify. From data bases and data warehouses to business intelligence and data mining systems, all of them contribute more or less to the success of an organisation. Data warehouses have proven to be a powerful means to gather and analyze large amounts of historical data. The data is gathered from pre-specified databases. Business intelligence tools are then utilized as an easy-to-use interface to access and analyze the information in the data warehouse. This paper intends to analyse the actual context and the potential evolutions of these technologies and platforms.
