POINT OF VIEW ASSIGNMENT

Building on first year MC's module on communication strategy and storytelling, our second module turns to persuasive communication. To accomplish your goals as a manager, you will need to motivate, convince, and move others to change.

For this assignment, we will consider how social concerns, economic trends, and competitive changes frequently impinge on the interests of organizations, business leaders, and entrepreneurs. High-performing managers scan their business environment for controversial issues that might have important consequences for their organizations and their own careers. These leaders identify problems that need to be addressed, do appropriate research, develop positions on such issues, and persuade others to share their points of view.

Purpose

The Point of View Assignment challenges you to develop a persuasive message on a contemporary issue relevant to business. The central purpose of this assignment is to learn to use persuasion effectively in an oral presentation and in a written document. Your goal should be to convince your classmates to adopt your point of view.
