Abstract
Internet use has grown at a remarkable pace over the last several years. The importance of making optimal use of the resources available on the Internet (Net) is likely to grow in the future. In this article, we first provide a brief history of the Internet followed by a description of how to access and navigate the Net. We also describe tools to perform useful tasks on the Net. The focus of this article, however, is on real estate resources available on the Internet. This article provides the first comprehensive directory of real estate resources on the Internet. Specifically, we describe four categories of real estate related sites on the Internet: sites that offer real estate for sale, real estate services, academic research on real estate, and research on related topics. In addition to summarizing real estate sites on the Net, we identify questions for future research and provide suggestions on how the Internet can be used to share real estate related information.
