Abstract

The Income Tax Act1 section 10, charges to tax profits of persons accruing in or derived from Singapore, in other words, profits which are sourced in Singapore. When are profits sourced in Singapore? Where there is a business carried on, what determines the taxability of business profits in Singapore? Is the place where the decision is made to buy or sell a commodity relevant in the determination of the source of profits?
