Abstract
The present paper is an attempt to study the managerial practices of scientific goods manufacturers at Ambala by classifying them in micro, small and medium (MSME) enterprises. The findings reveals that the most of MSMEs are registered and working under sole proprietorship form of business organization with the objective of winning customer support and satisfaction. Large number of micro units appoints less than fifteen employees whereas most of the small as well as medium firms are employing fifteen to thirty workers. But, more than thirty employees are found only in a few numbers of small and medium units. Meanwhile, medium enterprises are found to be ahead of micro and small units in use of outside experts or professionals while taking managerial decisions and are covering both domestic and international markets. Thus, manufacturers here are doing their job with best possible efforts but use of professionals, prevention and check on intermediaries, technology up gradation, and innovations are need of the hour so that they become able to bear up the ever growing pressure of global competition.
