Abstract
Western Ghats is a biodiversity hotspot in India. Many rare medicinal plants with miraculous healing properties are reported from here. The important medicinal plants from Western Ghats of India and their uses are detailed in this chapter. The major plants discussed here are Adapathiyan kizhangu (Holostemma adkodien), Amukkuram (Withania somnifera), Analivegam (Alstonia venenata), Arayal (Ficus religiosa), Arogyapacha (Tricopus zeilanicus), Adalotakam (Adhatoda beddomei), Chethi (Ixora macrothyrsa) and the similar. This chapter reveals the great potential of these rare plants and the need to conserve them.
