Abstract

There is little doubt that society as a whole is ready and ripe to experience a consolidated and holistic approach in tackling animal welfare, environmentalism and health. It is hoped that the justifications presented in this paper are convincing enough to spur animal welfare groups, environmental organisations and bastions of the vegetarian and vegan community to actively network across movements and look towards evolving into a bigger entity.

Keywords: vegetarianism, veganism, animal welfare, environmentalism
