How Do Family Businesses Adapt to the Rapid Pace of Globalization? A Bibliometric Analysis

Abstract

The acceleration of globalization has put forward new requirements on corporate strategy. Understanding the statistical relationship between economic globalization and family business development is significant to the advancement of both theory and practice in this field. This paper aims to explore economic changes and their influence on the family business when globalization thrived. To achieve this, we make a comprehensive overview of published papers in this field by using bibliometric techniques and visualization tools. Relying on the analysis results, the evolution of the literature related to the family business with globalization is presented. Furthermore, some discussions are conducted to illustrate the current challenges and popular issues for future research. This paper highlights the innovative measures of the family business in the context of globalization and identifies the frontiers in this field.
