Robert Powell, Retirement Management Journal editor-in-chief; David John, a nonresident senior fellow in economic studies at Brookings and a senior strategic policy advisor at the AARP Public Policy Institute focusing on pension and retirement savings issues; and Nevin Adams, then chief content officer for the American Retirement Association, spoke with Borzi about the importance of saving for retirement, the structure of state or federal programs that facilitate employee retirement savings, and the desirability of lifetime income streams like the default distribution mechanism of Social Security.
