Abstract
Industry 5.0 emphasizes a human-centric industry that enables mass personalization (MP) via value co-creation. However, existing studies primarily focus on implementing traditional user-participatory design, and lack effective methods to support the realization of MP. The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content provides a promising avenue to address this gap. In this context, this study proposes a novel design method oriented to MP, leveraging text-generated 3D model technology to facilitate effective value co-creation among AI, customers and manufacturers. Specifically, a design framework based on Manufacturer Knowledge Package (MKP) is introduced to organically integrate manufacturer insights with user perspectives. Moreover, a novel approach is developed using the linguistic evaluation matrix and the theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ) to refine and transform user requirements into manufacturable prompts, thereby improving the efficiency of co-creation processing. A case study on the personalized design of bicycle seats is presented to validate the proposed method, demonstrating its potential to effectively handle personalized demands and improve production efficiency in the context of MP.
