Abstract
Let me begin with a word of thanks. To the Committee, thank you for this invitation to speak today. To the faculty, the staff, thank you coming and for the work you do, day in and day out, to make this institution a beacon of hope. And to the students-the Eagles-thank you for your energy, your passion, your unwavering belief in a better tomorrow that fills this place with such extraordinary promise. I stand here, on this campus, where truth isn't just a subject in a classroom, it's a way of life. A place where service isn't just a word, it's the very air we breathe. And today, we find ourselves not just at a moment of transition for this university, but for our nation, for our world. And leading the way, with a spirit of excellence and a heart full of equity, is our new Chancellor, Dr. Karrie G. Dixon. We thank are thankful for her for leadership, for her commitment to student success, for a vision that honors the past even as it propels us into the future. As she so eloquently put it, she is here "to move NCCU forward, anchored by our values, guided by innovation, and always focused on the students." That's the kind of leadership that inspires. That's the kind of leadership that makes a difference.
