Abstract

This study examines the legal landscape of consumer protection in e-commerce in Nigeria, analyzing the regulatory framework, its efficacy, and enforcement obstacles. It identifies key issues like fraud, data privacy, and dispute resolution, and assesses the role of regulatory bodies like the FCCPC. A comparative analysis with South Africa's legal framework highlights lessons for Nigeria. The study recommends adopting international best practices, improving digital literacy, and strengthening regulatory mechanisms to enhance consumer protection in Nigeria's e-commerce environment.
