Abstract

The present day managerial context is characterized by rapid changes happening both within and outside an organization. The response to all these changes have to happen necessarily through the dynamics internal to an organization. The internal dynamics of an organization is a function of the composition of people within the organization. One of the features of present day context is large scale migration of people from one geographical region to another. This phenomenon has brought the cross-cultural aspects into the focus. The present study was taken because of its contextual relevance. The motive of this study was to identify the degree of importance for cultural intelligence in the present day context. The study is based on critical analysis of the secondary literature available as well as on the primary data captured by means of semi-structured interactions with 15 connected experts. The findings of the study revealed that understanding the role of cultural intelligence in identifying the forces behind one’s own behavioural pattern is the key in handling any cross-cultural management issues which are so vital for strategic performance of firm. Based on study, suggestions and recommendations were listed.
